Earth Day advocacy art build + picnic
Our work takes place on Dakota land. Learn more.
FMR's Earth Day festivities don't stop with the annual cleanup event. In addition to collecting litter in the River Gorge, we'll be hosting an art build and picnic where folks can create advocacy materials and grab a bite to eat.
This free, family-friendly event is a fun way to get creative while being close to the Mississippi River. You'll be able to make posters, fish sculptures and other art — including individual crafts for you to take home, and larger signs/posters FMR will use at future events.
Stop by for some free food and drinks, or to chat with FMR staff about the work we've been doing in the community and at the Capitol.
The art build begins at 10:30 a.m. at West River Parkway and 44th Street. Pizza will be delivered at 11 a.m. Light snacks and beverages will be available before the pizza arrives.
All art materials will be provided, but if you have clean, broken-down cardboard boxes, bring them to be used as posters! We also recommend bringing camping or lawn chairs if you would prefer not to stand or sit on the ground for the activities.
This is a fun, simple way to show support for the river while providing a boost to our expanding advocacy efforts.
We hope you come share in our Earth Day excitement!
